Maybe a vision statement is too “pie in the sky” for you. Perhaps you’ve witnessed organizational leaders talking about vision, but not taking action. Ask yourself these questions:
– Where are we now and where do we want to be?
– Where do we want to be and how do we get there from here?
They’re practically the same question. But it’s intriguing how you can get two different answers when you’re looking forward vs. looking back. When you fuse these two views and discover the challenges in the middle – between your present and your future – you’ll have some of those “aha” moments. Those insights will feed right into your strategic plan.
Is that all there is to it? Not quite.
