Don’t you deserve that trusted advisor who makes your life easier? You shouldn’t have to settle for less. Here are some reasons to consider a change:
- You only talk to your current accountant once a year at tax time, making it hard to develop a relationship
- You’re afraid to call them for help or advice because they’re inaccessible and/or the “meter” is always running
- They won’t visit you – you always have to visit them
- They don’t show you how to record or track your information
- They always put your tax return on extension
- Everything is always “last minute,” giving you practically no time to make changes or ask questions
- Tax projections or updates are not offered to you
- Your phone calls aren’t returned promptly; expectations aren’t met
- You’re making calls to the IRS yourself
- You discover unexpected fees or you’re getting charged for services you don’t really need
- Your accountant isn’t providing proactive advice
- They’re not introducing you to their network of contacts that can help you grow your business
- You’re faced with unexpected tax liabilities, related penalties and interest charges
- You sense a lack of technical knowledge
- You’re discovering mistakes and poor advice
- Your current provider is unable (or unwilling) to explain things so you can understand
- They’re constantly saying “no” without explaining why or offering alternatives to meet your goals
- Your business has out-grown the accountant or vice-versa and now you’re their “little fish”
If this list sounds too familiar, it may be time to make the call.
